GNRC Hospitals organised the first ever multidisciplinary international meet in the North-East on Robotic Surgery on 3rd May at GNRC Hospital, Dispur with a daylong programme. An endoscopic workshop was also held at GNRC Sixmile hospital on 4th May where a few surgeries were transmitted live.
Many renowned surgeons and technocrats participated in the conference as invited guest faculties. Dr. Micaela Piccoli, Chief of Endocrine Surgery Unit, Department of Surgery, New Sant’Agostine Hospital, Modena, Italy, Dr. Barbara Mullineris, surgeon at AIMS Academy at San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy & Dr. Surendra Narne from Italy participated as the international faculty. Amongst national faculties, Dr. P. P. Devan from Mangalore, Dr. Sajjan K Hegde from Chennai, Dr. Ali Zamir Khan from Delhi, Dr. Rooma Sinha from Hyderabad, Dr. Gagan Gautam from Gurgaon and Dr. Shymanta Moni Hazarika from Tezpur University participated in Robo Meet -2014. In the inaugural function of Robo Meet-2014 Prof. Umesh Ch. Sarma, Vice-Chancellor of Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences attended as the chief guest. Dr. Gautam Barua, Mentor Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Guwahati, attended as the guest of honour. Dr. N.C. Borah, CMD of GNRC Hospitals & Chief-Patron of ROBO MEET-2014 expressed happiness over large-scale participation of the surgeons from different surgical specialities of the entire North-East India and said that GNRC has always been pioneering about newer technologies and health care services to the people of the North-East.
